The inauguration of the out-patients’ clinic,

on 30th September 2007

The inauguration ceremony for the out-patients’ clinic built with the support of 'Fondation Paix 21' took place on the 30th September 2007, in Antélias/Beirut

Lebanon.

In a very touching but also very optimistic address, the president of 'Fondation Paix 21', Roselyne Carausaz gave a review of the evolutionary history of the project. In the presence of the Swiss ambassador for the Lebanon, Dr. François Barras, and the German ambassador for the Lebanon, Mr. Hansjörg Haber, and after welcome words by Dr. med. Antoine Aoun, the assisting chief medical doctor for the clinic and from Wissam Maalouf, founder and director of Mission de Vie, Roselyne Crausaz officially handed the medical center over to Wissam Maalouf and 'Mission de Vie'.

The health centre will be used not only by the approximately 100 residents of 'Centre Vie Nouvelle' but also for the very poor people who live in this district of Beirut and who occasionally need urgent and basic medical help, with the focus especially on children.

A special and warm thanks from Roselyne Crausaz was expressed to the organisations BASAID  CH -Basel and 'International Health Care' D-Stuttgart, who with their generous financiel support made the realisation of the project possible. Luciano Pellegrini, president of 'Basaid', and Prof. Dr. med. Günter Schmolz represented the two organisations during the inauguration ceremony.
